They're heeeeeerrrreeeeeeee!

The wristbands, of course! And they're beautiful. After the break we will pass them out and SELL SELL SELL! If you have any marketing techniques please post them, we want as much money as possible! I'll post a few pictures below.

We're selling them for $1.00 each. You can even do pre-sells over the break if you want. Hope you're having a great time! See you all next meeting!

First Oregon Humane Society Visit

So a group of 10 ARC members visited the OHS today. And it was a success! So far I've heard only good things about it. That it was really fun, the animals were great, etc. So I hope to set up monthly visits with the volunteer coordinator within the next few weeks. A reminder that the next visit is January 16th. Our next club meeting will be on the week of this visit, so if you are signed up, be sure to turn in your waiver forms at that time. And be ready to receive our club wristbands!

Happy holidays!

An update...

Hey ARC peoples!

Just an update... so your secretary and treasurer FINALLY put in the order for those royal blue wristbands, after searching for weeks for a fair price. Downside, they will not be here by next meeting... sorry. But they will FOR SURE be here when we get back from winter break. All members will be expected to sell at least 10 wristbands at $1 a piece, so be ready for them!

Our first Oregon Humane Society volunteer trip is coming up a week from this Saturday. We have received all the waiver forms, so we're good to go on that... if anyone for the January trip still needs one, here's the link:

Next meeting, we will be reminding you of the expectations and such. The only other thing left is that we still NEED ONE MORE CHAPERONE! Renae's mom has agreed to come, but we still need ONE MORE, so ask your parents!

That's all for now. See you at the meeting next Tuesday morning :)

The plan for the wristbands!

Hey ARC!

So the officers met today to finalize the wristband fundraiser. We considered the few posts on the blog, but after further research, we found that the zebra stripe wristbands weren't going to end up looking the way we wanted.

We decided on red wristbands, with "Make Your Mark" on the front with a paw print clipart, and "Tigard ARC" on the back. We felt that this had the right mix, with something catchy on the front, and an indication of who we are on the back. We will be placing an order sometime later this week.

BUT, if you for some reason feel strongly opposed to any part of the wristband decisions, PLEASE voice your opinion. Whether it be about the color, or the messages. We made the decisions that we thought would please the most people, so we will consider your opinion if you voice it before we order them.

And a reminder: we will be taking a picture for the yearbook next meeting (11/17). So plan to be there!

Thanks!

Poop Brown Wristbands?

We think not. How about some awesome fun ones that EVERYONE will be wearing that you helped start? Definitely!

Ideas? Think about what you would buy for $1 and wear if you weren't in ARC!

Use these sites to get an idea of what kinds of colors will be possible for our wristbands:

http://www.wristbandswithamessage.com/cart/inventory.php

We have not decided which company we will be using yet, but almost any color will be possible, so get your ideas in! Also, think about what you want the wristbands to say on the back and front. This will be our club's first big activity at THS, so let your voice be heard!

ARC Meeting: 10/6/09

Today during access time we had our first club meeting in Lopresti's room (#221)!

We basically went over our club constitution and discussed what you should be expecting from ARC this year in terms of activities. The goal is for ARC to remain active and to accomplish a lot of work this year, so be prepared!

We did not have a sign up sheet unfortunately, but I am expecting the Oregon Humane Society to email me back with a volunteer date by the next meeting (which is Oct. 20th). I am also trying to set up activities with the Oregon Zoo and SEA Club. And if anyone has an idea for a club activity/ volunteer project, mention it at the next club meeting!

We ended the meeting by electing our club officers. Thanks to all who came to the first meeting today!

ARC is now an official club!

At the year's first student council meeting today, I made a movement that the council consider making ARC an official club at THS. And I'm really happy to say, no pointless debating took place, and the club was passed with 100% of the council's vote!

So ARC is now a legit club at Tigard High! We will be having our first official club meeting on Tuesday, October 6th during access time. We'll basically start off the year by going over what you should be expecting from ARC this year. This includes going over our club's constitution, our club activities, and having an official election for our club officers.

I think ARC's going to have a successful first year at Tigard High! See you Oct. 6th!
